Patient Stories
EoE and Travelling
Having EoE and going on a trip may be scary for some patients, above all if the destination is a non developed country and if the patient’s diet is very restrictive. It is common to think that there will more difficulties following the diet.
Asymptomatic EOE under PPI treatment
After three years under the exclusion diet as a treatment for my EOE, being totally asymptomatic, I started to feel some symptoms sporadically. Most of the times those were food impaction, which required hospitalisation twice. The other food impactions episodes I could manage at home, even though it resulted in many hours with thorax pain.
Discovering EOE
At the age of 21, I was diagnosed with EoE. I didn’t know what that was, I have never heard about it before, I just knew that every time I tried to eat I couldn’t swallow. Two years were needed –since I started feeling the first symptoms, to when I was diagnosed with the correct disorder.
